Individual Profile

After completing the training in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hong Kong, Mavis worked as a clinical psychologist in a non-profit organization, providing various assessment and intervention services for children, adolescents and parents in the community. The assessment areas included intelligence, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, etc. The treatments covered issues such as emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents, parent-child relationship tensions, and caregiver stress. She also conducted behavioral therapy groups for children and provided parenting training and emotional support for parents.

Mavis later joined the Hospital Authority and worked in various specialized units over the past decade, including departments of child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, psychogeriatric psychiatry, anesthesia and pain medicine, pediatric, and medicine and geriatrics in hospitals such as Castle Peak Hospital, Kwai Chung Hospital, United Christian Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital. She provided clinical psychological assessment and treatment services to patients with a wide range of conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, hoarding disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, psychosis, delusions, eating disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairment, personality disorders, prolonged grief, adjustment disorders, parenting stress, caregiver stress, academic stress, work stress, and interpersonal problems. Therefore, Mavis has accumulated rich clinical experience in handling individuals of different age groups and various emotional difficulties.  She is able to provide accurate assessments and select appropriate, evidence-based treatment methods tailored to individual circumstances.

In her years of helping others, Mavis has always believed in the potential for personal growth and transformation in everyone. She has deeply experienced that as long as one never gives up, one can always find a suitable path, continue to grow, and live the life they desire.
